Hunter came to us from Tina and Lisa Barber at New Zion Shilohs. I am very proud to say that he is an ISSR registered Shiloh Shepherd from the original and only legitimate Shiloh Shepherd registry. He is brown sable, plush coated, with a medium soft temperament. He is amazingly smart and is extremely well behaved. Training him was a breeze and at times he seemed to instinctively know exactly what I wanted of him, without me having to show him over and over. At 4 years of age, Hunter has matured into an absolutely awesome dog, my soul mate and the dog of my dreams. He is gentle and sweet, while still being watchful over his home and "his" other dogs, especially our Husky Tundra who he watches over like a little sister. Hunter has such a stable temperament that I have no fear of him ever threatening anyone unnecessarily. He is gentle with visitors and children (even though we had none of our own until just recently), and is amazingly quiet and well behaved while on our therapy visits to local hospitals and nursing homes.
Hunter also enjoys a bit of rough and tumble play and absolutely fell in love with herding sheep. We started taking lessons at a local facility last winter, but had to stop when the facility wclose down. I was heartbroken because Hunter - mister laid back, mellow man - totally lit up when he saw the sheep, and I have been unable to find another location within driving distance where we could continue to take lessons. If anyone knows of any herding facilities here on Long Island, please let us know! :-) Please click on the links above for pictures and stories about Hunter as he grew up. We're always happy to talk about Shiloh Shepherds and as Shiloh Ambassadors we're more than willing to show Hunter off and allow him to meet new people... so if you live in the Long Island, NY, area, please feel free to contact me at dpknatz@optonline.net .
